Legal Times Selects Thomas Madden as a Leading Government Contracts Lawyer
Legal Times has selected Thomas Madden, chair of Venable's Government Contracts Group,as one of 12 leading goverment contracts lawyers in Washington, DC. In making its selections, Legal Times interviewed dozens of experts in the field, including lawyers, clients, and academics. Legal Times quoted clientsas saying Mr. Madden is "incredibly responsive to his clients' needs" and that he has "terrific judgment" andis a "very strategic thinker."
Mr. Madden, who has been chair ofVenable's Government Contracts Group for 20 years,represents clients in the full range of government contracts and related intellectual property matters. Mr. Madden is currently representing Lockheed Martin Corp. in a patent dispute involving cockpit displays inplanes supplied to the government. Mr. Madden's recent victories include the successful defense of a 10-year contract, potentially worth $1 billion, awarded to Raytheon Technical Services Co. to manage and operate the U.S. Antarctic Program and the successful defense of an $800 million contact awarded to Sodexho to provide food service to the U.S. Marines.

Mr. Madden received his law degree from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, and his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University.
