Venable Announces New Co-Managing Partners

Washington, DC – May 9, 2016 – Venable LLP announced today the appointment of new Co-Managing Partners – Lawrence Gesner and Daniel Moylan. Mr. Gesner and Mr. Moylan will serve under the continued leadership of the firm's Chairman, Jim Shea.

While Brian Schwalb, Lindsay Meyer, and Robert Waldman are ending their terms as Vice Chairman, and Co-Managing Partners respectively, they will continue to serve as members of Venable's senior leadership team. Mr. Schwalb will serve as Partner in Charge of the firm's Washington, DC office. Ms. Meyer and Mr. Waldman will serve as President and Vice President of the Venable Foundation. Mr. Waldman will also serve as Chair of the firm's Business Division and Ms. Meyer will continue to be a member of the Venable Board.

Mr. Gesner most recently served as Chair of the firm's Business Division. He is a business lawyer with a national practice assisting clients in structuring and negotiating complex financing transactions. He is based in the firm’s Washington, DC office and has been with the firm for 13 years.

Mr. Moylan is a commercial litigator with extensive and varied experience representing clients in many industries with an emphasis on board and officer related litigation and investigations. He is based in the firm's Baltimore office and has been with Venable for almost 20 years. Mr. Moylan currently serves on the board of Maryland Family Network and is a past President of Maryland Defense Counsel, Inc.

Over the last several years, Venable has expanded significantly in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. The firm has more than 650 attorneys and has risen to number 66 on the Am Law 100 list.
