71 attorneys ranked in 78 categories, 29 practice group rankings at national and state level
Washington, DC (May 23, 2014) – Chambers USA has released its full list of annual rankings of attorneys and law firms across the United States. This year, 71 Venable attorneys achieved rankings in 78 categories and 29 practices were ranked at the national and state level. This is Chambers USA’s twelfth annual survey covering America’s leading lawyers identified as the best in their fields by their peers and clients.
Among this year’s highlights were 11 attorneys who saw their rankings improve compared to last year. Most notably, partner James J. Hanks, Jr. rose from Band 1 to Star Individual for Nationwide REITs: Maryland Counsel. Chambers’ highest ranking possible, a Star Individual is an attorney with exceptional recommendations in their field. Mr. Hanks is the only attorney in the country to receive such a ranking in this category. Additional highlights include four attorneys added to the rankings this year, three of whom debuted in National categories. Venable was also shortlisted for the coveted Chambers USA Award for Excellence in the Product Liability category.
Chambers and Partners notes that it conducts intensive, continuous research to identify the world’s leading lawyers and law firms – those who perform best according to the criteria most valued by clients. The process, which extends over several months, includes written submissions, personal interviews, client feedback, and peer assessment.
