Significant Matters

Ms. McMaster represents one of the largest manufacturers of farm and forestry equipment in the U.S., most recently in defense of allegations that one of its facilities knowingly submitted inaccurate waste water discharge monitoring reports under its CWA NPDES permit. After several years of investigation, the AUSA declined to prosecute the corporation.

She represents one of the largest oil companies in the U.S., most recently in an environmental criminal investigation stemming from the sale of certain refinery products to a third party, which the EPA and DOJ challenged as illegal disposal of hazardous waste.

She successfully represented the owner of a landfill in defense of allegations that hazardous materials had migrated from the facility, impacting surrounding properties.

Activities

Ms. McMaster frequently serves as a guardian ad litem in cases pending before the D.C. Superior Court. She also recently secured a favorable settlement for a pro bono client in a custody dispute involving two minor children.

Ms. McMaster is an associate columnist with the National Law Journal, and a frequent contributor to Sue Magazine.
