Significant Matters
Prior to joining Venable, Ms. Moore practiced law at Baltimore's Whiteford, Taylor & Preston for more than 20 years. At Whiteford, she litigated hundreds of product liability and general business matters, including claims arising out of exposure to asbestos and lead paint and claims of medical malpractice arising out of an alleged misdiagnosis of HIV. She also recently represented a municipality in a civil rights case stemming from the proposed redevelopment of a public housing complex.
Activities
Ms. Moore is a fixture in the Baltimore community. She is the interim chair of the Baltimore City Board of Ethics, a member of the Bates College Board of Trustees and president of the Charles Village Civic Association. Ms. Moore also sits on the board of directors for the Elijah Cummings Youth Program and the National Bar Institute. In addition, she serves as board chair of The Leadership, a Baltimore program that recruits and develops community leaders from the business community by building professional leadership skills, knowledge of the community, personal contacts and friendships.
Ms. Moore serves as Chair to the National Bar Association's Ethics Committee. She is also a member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference, the Maryland State Bar Association, the Monumental City Bar Association, the National Bar Association, Network 2000 and Serjeant's Inn Law Club.
She is an active volunteer and board member at Marian House, Inc. and has volunteered at Mercy Hospital. Ms. Moore has also donated her time to numerous political campaigns, Saint Ann's Church, and Saint Frances Academy Community Center. She frequently provides pro bono representation to individuals and organizations involved in legal disputes.
