Davis V.R. Sherman
Davis Sherman concentrates his practice in advising hospitals, colleges, and other tax-exempt corporations and underwriters in the arranging of tax-exempt bond financing for capital projects. He also represents clients in project financings and corporate mergers and acquisitions.
As a regular participant in tax-exempt revenue bond financings in a variety of settings, Mr. Sherman efficiently manages the complex interface between the multiple players in a major capital project financing.
Significant Matters
As counsel to The Johns Hopkins University, Mr. Sherman helped The Johns Hopkins Hospital and The Johns Hopkins University put in place a $48,845,000 tax-exempt financing facility for The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions Utilities Program.
As counsel to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Mr. Sherman helped negotiate and structure a $142,910,000 tax-exempt financing that included a refinancing component, a new money component, and derivative transactions to enhance the efficiency of the financing.
Activities
Mr. Sherman serves as a Director of the Library Company of the Baltimore Bar, Chairman of the Board of Kernan Hospital, a trustee and Vice President of the Kernan Endowment and a director of University of Maryland Medical System Foundation.
