Devesh Srivastava, Ph.D.

Devesh Srivastava is a former research scientist and registered patent attorney. He brings 3 years of experience as a former U.S. patent examiner and 5 years of experience as an in-house corporate intellectual property counsel. Dr. Srivastava is experienced in the areas of DNA/RNA, agricultural biotechnology, biologics and pharmaceuticals. His scientific disciplines include Ophthalmology, Neurobiology, Oncology, growth factors, diagnostics, biomarkers, ligand-mediated systems and second messenger systems. His combined scientific and legal training allows him to understand his client's needs and then formulate strategies to achieve their business and legal goals.

Dr. Srivastava has extensive experience in global patent prosecution, global patent and trademark portfolio management, domestic and foreign patent disputes before patent offices, intellectual property licensing and transactional agreements. Dr. Srivastava prepares due diligence, validity, infringement, freedom-to-operate and patentability opinions.

Activities

Dr. Srivastava is a past member of the Commercial Relationships Committee for the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He has spoken on Intellectual Property related topics to scientific groups and technology transfer organizations and sat on legal panels of corporate in-house counsel. Dr. Srivastava was a Visiting Scholar at the UCLA School of Medicine and completed a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Srivastava has held competitive research grants and published in both scientific and legal peer-reviewed journals.
