Gilead I. Light

Mr. Light is a member of the SEC/White Collar Criminal Defense group, with experience representing clients in criminal investigations, civil government enforcement actions, and commercial litigation. His representations have included cases involving allegations of espionage and other national security law violations; violations of the securities laws, including market timing of mutual funds and NASDAQ trading; fraud; consumer protection law violations; antitrust law violations; and other white collar crimes.

In September of 2009, Mr. Light was the second chair at a four day jury trial in defense of a former Pentagon employee accused of conspiracy and multiple counts of espionage.

Prior to joining Venable, Mr. Light was the Deputy Director of Israel Policy Forum's Washington, D.C. office (2001-2004). He wrote weekly news and policy analyses on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and helped moderate simulated negotiation exercises between Israelis and Palestinians.

Mr. Light has accepted numerous pro bono criminal defense representations of indigent defendants facing various criminal charges.
