Jacqueline Patt focuses her practice on all aspects of intellectual property including domestic and international trademark prosecution and portfolio management, searching and clearance of marks, policing, licensing, and counseling on global strategy. Ms. Patt serves a broad range of clientele in the insurance, hospitality, food, e-commerce, entertainment, financial, and consumer products industries.
Ms. Patt counsels clients on brand-management issues online including adwords/keywords and the sale of counterfeit goods in online auctions. She advises clients on their social media presence, how to protect their trademarks on social media platforms, and acts on behalf of clients to recover infringing user names. Ms. Patt also assists clients with registering and policing domain names, including filing domain name disputes under ICANN's Uniform Domain Dispute Resolution Policy.
Ms. Patt is experienced in drafting and negotiating license agreements involving trademarks, copyrights, rights of privacy and publicity, media, co-branding and marketing. She also counsels and coordinates worldwide recordation of license agreements in accordance with laws in individual countries. Ms. Patt provides counsel to clients on advertising and marketing campaigns, false advertising, and unfair competition concerns. She is experienced in conducting trademark audits in connection with corporate mergers and acquisitions, as well as financing and recordation of security interests.
Ms. Patt also represents clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She has successfully managed Federal Court cases including trademark infringement, search engine optimization strategies and cybersquatting under the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection.

- Enforcement of commercial property insurance company’s trademark rights against competitor in opposition proceeding resulting in abandonment of application (2009).
- Represented identity theft protection company in trademark infringement action resulting in abandonment of infringing mark (2008);
- Represented commercial property insurance company in trademark infringement action resulting in abandonment of infringing mark (2007).
- Represented retirement community in trademark infringement action and concurrent use proceeding against competitor (2003).
- Represented international retail store in action under the anticybersquatting consumer protection act (2001)
Activities
Ms. Patt has assisted a number of non-profit corporations with trademark prosecution matters on a pro bono basis and was recognized at the Federal Bench Bar Conference for work on pro bono appointments by the Court in October 2000.
