Jason C. Rose
Jason Rose maintains a diverse litigation practice as part of the firm's Commercial Litigation Group. His practice focuses on the efficient resolution of commercial, intellectual property and product liability disputes, including such areas as securities and shareholder suits, business torts, and commercial contract and software licensing disputes.
Mr. Rose is an experienced litigator who has effectively represented clients across a broad spectrum of industries in a variety of commercial, intellectual property and product liability cases. He also offers Venable's clients unique business experience based on time he spent working in the international legal group of a leading global heavy machinery manufacturer while living in Tokyo, Japan. In that capacity he counseled the company's business and legal departments on a variety of commercial contract formation and risk management issues involved in large scale international industrial projects and ventures. Mr. Rose's combination of law firm and in house experience gives him a unique perspective in understanding and achieving client goals.
Representative Clients
In recent years Mr. Rose has represented diverse businesses, including a large real estate investment trust in shareholder litigation over a merger, a telemarketing company in arbitration over a marketing services contract dispute, a software company in the confirmation and collection of an arbitration award, the creditors of a bankrupt energy corporation in a suit over complex derivative transactions, and a contracting company in an insurance coverage dispute. Mr. Rose also recently has worked with a team of Venable lawyers as national counsel to a pharmaceutical manufacturer in nationwide litigation. Before joining Venable, Mr. Rose worked in a New York firm where he represented a major air carrier in the 9/11 Commission investigation and related September 11 litigation arising out of the terrorist attacks in 2001.
Activities
Mr. Rose is an active member of the Maryland community. He is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel and on the Board of Directors of the Community Law Center, a nonprofit law firm that offers legal services to community associations and small businesses to help improve the safety and economic viability of communities in the greater Baltimore area. He is also a member of the Leadership Advisory Council at Cristo Rey High School in Baltimore City.
