John V. Sunder
John Sunder is a member of the firm’s Business Division and focuses his practice on Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) Servicing and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights. Mr. Sunder represents Special Servicers in CMBS repurchase claims against loan originators for breaches of representations and warranties made to the purchasing Trust. Mr. Sunder has also represented Special Servicers in commercial single asset real estate cases, including foreclosure sales and receivership actions. Mr. Sunder has also represented commercial creditors and liquidating agents in a variety of matters including estate administration, preference actions, contract disputes and the enforcement of creditors’ rights.
Prior to joining Venable, Mr. Sunder was a history teacher and coach in the Howard County Public School System.
