Larry Katz is a senior partner in Venable’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Group, where he concentrates his practice on complex Chapter 11 proceedings, workouts, business restructurings, and commercial litigation.

Significant Matters

Mr. Katz has participated in numerous significant bankruptcy cases on behalf of debtors, committees, creditors and prospective purchasers of bankruptcy estate assets. In 2006, as counsel for the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Howard Delivery Service, Inc., Mr. Katz was successful in obtaining a landmark decision regarding bankruptcy priorities before the United States Supreme Court. He has also represented debtors, landlords, creditors, asset purchasers and preference defendants in the Chapter 11 cases of Capitol Resource Funding, Inc., Movie Gallery, Inc., Jillian's Entertainment Holdings, Inc., Preston Trucking Co., Phar-Mor, Inc., Trak Auto, The Driggs Corporation, U.S. Airways, Combined Properties, L.P., Pocket Communications, Global Crossing, Worldcom, Rowe Furniture, Inc., AM Communications, Inc., NextWave Communications, Columbia Hospital for Women, W.Bell & Co., UPI, Dexterity Surgical, Inc., Interactive Network, Inc. and Dotcast, Inc.
