Mark Fleischer is a seasoned entertainment attorney whose practice focuses on the motion picture/television transactional area. Over the years, Mr. Fleischer has represented studios, independent production companies, and independent producers in the area of single and slate motion picture finance, production, distribution, copyright, and rights management. Additionally, Mr. Fleischer has represented numerous actors, directors, writers, and producers in the negotiation of their agreements with studios and other production entities for their services, as well as talent agencies in their business and legal concerns.
Mr. Fleischer also has extensive experience as an executive, having served as Executive Vice President of MGM Studios, President of CGI animation studio Mainframe USA, and President of Global Television and General Manager of its television station KSCI. Mr. Fleischer currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Fleischer Studios, where he is responsible for managing family-owned rights assets, including Betty Boop, the character created by Mr. Fleischer's grandfather, animation pioneer Max Fleischer.
While attending law school, Mr. Fleischer served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Edward Rafeedie of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Activities
Mr. Fleischer is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Motion Picture and Television Fund and is the founding Chair of the Fund's Professional Advisory Council. Mr. Fleischer also serves on the Board of Directors of The Geffen Playhouse.
