As a practitioner before the federal and state courts and administrative agencies in Maryland--particularly the courts in Montgomery County--for over 30 years, Mr. Glasgow is recognized as one of the leading lawyers in Montgomery County. He brings to clients a wide range of experience in business litigation, real estate and land use law and litigation, construction litigation and state and local government law.

Significant Matters

Mr. Glasgow has been involved in a number of complex business and technology cases, including successfully representing the majority owners of professional sports teams in litigation over ownership and control of professional sports franchises and successfully recovered money from a securities broker who acted in concert with the former chief executive of a privately held real estate corporation to misappropriate money from the Company. In construction litigation, Mr. Glasgow recovered the cost to rebuild parts of public roads and a public plaza that failed due to a defective design, plus litigation expenses.

In real estate related litigation, Mr. Glasgow successfully intervened in litigation on behalf of a local government and private developer, enabling a private developer in a public-private partnership to obtain summary judgment against a financial institution that had asserted an equity interest in a $350 million redevelopment project. He successfully defended a real estate company in a breach of contract claim for the payment of several million dollars of additional interest payments in connection with the sale for 258 acres of land and also recovered more than twice the amount initially offered by the state in a condemnation case on behalf of a commercial property owner.

Activities

Mr. Glasgow has been active in bar association affairs, including serving on the trial courts judicial nominating commission for Montgomery County and as treasurer of the Montgomery County Chapter of the American Inns of Court.
