Robert Geis provides tax and business advice to closely-held businesses and their owners. He focuses on real estate tax and transactional matters including all aspects of REITs. As an advisor to closely-held business owners, Mr. Geis also has the opportunity to provide sophisticated estate planning advice.

Extensive experience enables Mr. Geis to save a client significant income and estate taxes through creative and innovative planning techniques. Mr. Geis helps the transition of a family business to the next generation, puts together real estate and other investment joint ventures and provides tax advice to real estate owners that sell real estate to REITs.

Significant Matters

Several recent transactional matters stand out.  Mr. Geis settled a major estate, formed a family limited partnership consisting of nine family groups, assisted a family through its split of a closely-held publishing and cable T.V. business with another branch of the family, assisted with the tax-free disposition of a major real estate portfolio, and recapitalized another family’s substantial holdings.
