Stephen Swart is an associate in Venable's Commercial South Litigation group. He focuses his practice on complex civil, real estate, and creditors' rights litigation.

In his complex litigation practice, Mr. Swart has represented plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts.  Mr. Swart has resolved issues involving breach of contract, unjust enrichment, employment contracts, tortious interference with business expectancy, telecommunications law, the Administrative Procedure Act, the Freedom of Information Act, and securities law, among others.  He has also prepared materials about, and represented parties in, mediating civil disputes in federal court.

Additionally, Mr. Swart has successfully represented members of the Metropolitan Washington real estate community, assisting them in completing sales and leases of property and addressing construction issues.  He has also represented plaintiffs and defendants in commercial loan, landlord-tenant, and purchase-and-sale disputes.
