Mr. Kelly is a seasoned white collar criminal defense and trial lawyer.

For the last 20 years, Mr. Kelly has built upon his experience as a former Assistant United States Attorney, successfully representing corporations and individuals in both criminal and administrative matters throughout the United States.

Though Mr. Kelly spends a considerable amount of time in the courtroom, the majority of his cases are won in the pre-indictment investigative phase.

Mr. Kelly is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for Environmental Law and was selected as a Top Lawyer for Environmental Litigation by Washingtonian Magazine for his national environmental criminal law practice.

Significant Matters

Mr. Kelly has defended individuals in high profile criminal cases. He has also represented companies in criminal and complex civil cases, compliance matters and internal investigations.

Mr. Kelly recently completed an eight-month criminal trial representing Atlantic States Cast Iron Pipe Company -- the longest federal environmental criminal trial in the history of the United States.

In the last 20 years, Mr. Kelly has represented individuals and companies in almost every state in the nation covering a vast array of industries. His cases have involved allegations of conspiracy, obstruction of justice, environmental crimes, accounting fraud, antitrust, false statements and defense contractor fraud. Mr. Kelly has represented both Fortune 500 and small companies.

Activities

In 1991, Mr. Kelly established a free legal clinic in Washington, D.C. to help those in need. Over the years, the legal clinic has thrived and is now part of Bread for the City.

Mr. Kelly has also served on the Board of Directors of both Bread for the City and Neighborhood Legal Services Program.

Mr. Kelly has also represented numerous pro bono clients and continues to handle several cases per year.
