Timothy P. DeKeyser
Tim DeKeyser is a member of the firm's Real Estate group and concentrates his practice on complex real estate matters, including the acquisition, sale, financing, leasing and management of real property. He has experience assisting special servicers in the restructuring of troubled loans and the modification of loan documents. He has also helped clients in the management of commercial property, including office and retail leasing.
Significant Matters
Mr. DeKeyser assisted in the securitization of a large portfolio of loans backed by multifamily properties located throughout the country, including the identification of special disclosure items and the drafting of special disclosure narratives to the base investment prospectus.
Pro Bono
Mr. DeKeyser maintains an active pro bono practice and has done significant work to aid communities in Baltimore with disorderly and disruptive liquor establishments. He has represented several local community organizations at protest hearings of liquor license renewals before the Board of Liquor License Commissioners for Baltimore City. In two instances, Mr. DeKeyser procured a 30-day suspension of the liquor license, and in the third, the Board denied the renewal of the liquor license altogether. In two other cases, Mr. DeKeyser assisted his clients in coming to a very favorable contractual resolution in lieu of a formal protest.
Mr. DeKeyser has also represented a local community organization in Baltimore regarding the removal of a ground rent on its property.
Activities
During law school, Mr. DeKeyser was president of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society at Vanderbilt, and under his leadership, the society received the school’s award for Best Scholarly Programming. Mr. DeKeyser oversaw a board of over 20 members and produced a 15-week speaking program with leaders in the world of entertainment and sports law.
