Winifred M. Weitsen
Winifred Weitsen is a partner in Venable's SEC & White Collar Defense Group, where she advises and represents individuals and public companies in civil and criminal government enforcement actions and complex litigation.
Ms. Weitsen's practice focuses on defending companies and corporate executives facing criminal investigations as well as civil and regulatory government enforcement actions. She has represented clients in matters involving antitrust, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, health care and government contracts fraud, and securities regulation. Ms. Weitsen is experienced in conducting comprehensive internal investigations on behalf of corporate management, audit committees, and special committees of the board of directors, and counseling clients on compliance and internal control issues.
Activities
Ms. Weitsen has been appointed as Vice Chair, Membership, of the ABA Health Law Section. Her appointment is for the 2011-2012 Bar Year which begins on September 1, 2011. She also serves as Vice Chair of the DRI Government Enforcement and Corporate Compliance Committee.
