Regional Real Estate Attorney Henry Brandenstein Joins Venable LLP’s Tysons Corner Office

TYSONS CORNER, VA (July 11, 2005) - Venable LLP is pleased to announce that Henry F. Brandenstein, Jr. has joined the firm as a partner in its Tysons Corner, Virginia office. Mr. Brandenstein has spent more than 20 years practicing law in the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC area.  Joining with Mr. Brandenstein are of counsel Jay Chadwick and associates Lauren T. Coapstick and Jessica L. Sartorius.

Mr. Brandenstein represents real estate developers, builders and lenders, including developers of single family residential, multi-family residential and commercial properties.  His practice focuses on real estate acquisition, development and finance, and related lending and credit issues, as well as general business representation.

“Henry brings tremendous understanding of real estate issues from many different perspectives.  His combination of industry knowledge and professional experience will be invaluable to our real estate practice,” said Robert G. Gottlieb, chair of Venable’s Real Estate Group.

Mr. Brandenstein also represents banks and institutional lenders in connection with negotiating, structuring, documenting, and closing all forms of loan transactions. He provides creditor representation in connection with loan workouts and counseling with regard to lender liability issues.

Mr. Brandenstein received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1977 and his law degree from the American University, Washington College of Law in 1981.  He is a member of the Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, and New York bars.  He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts in the Washington, DC area, as well as the U.S. Tax Court.

Mr. Chadwick focuses on commercial real estate transactions.  He represents owners of real property in the acquisition, disposition, development, financing, and leasing of such property.  He also represents clients in the acquisition and disposition of membership interests in entities owning real property, and in the formation of business enterprises generally.

Mr. Chadwick earned his undergraduate degree from William and Mary in 1993 and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1996. He is a member of the Virginia, District of Columbia and Kentucky bars.
