Kevin Shepherd presented "Am I My Client’s Gatekeeper? Lawyers' Anti-Money Laundering Obligations" on February 2, 2018, at the National Organization of Bar Counsel mid-year meeting in Vancouver. Kevin's co-panelists were Ellyn S. Rosen, regulation and global initiatives counsel at the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility; Wendy J. Muchman, chief of litigation and professional education at the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission; Deborah Armour, chief legal officer of the Law Society of British Columbia; and Paul Frederick, general counsel of the State Bar of Georgia. Kevin is liaison from the ABA Board of Governors to the ABA Task Force on Gatekeeper Regulation and the Profession; chair of the ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law's Working Group on Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorist Financing Efforts Affecting Lawyers; and senior vice chair of the IBA's Regulation of Lawyers' Compliance Committee.
