On August 22, 2018, Annette Kwok, a member of Venable's Patent Prosecution and Counseling Group in the Washington, DC office, received the American Bar Association (ABA) Center for Professional Responsibility's Jeanne P. Gray Diversity Scholarship. In this role, Ms. Kwok will serve as a liaison between the ABA, the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), and other organizations to assist in furthering the Committee's mission. This includes developing synergies with other national/local affinity bar associations; seeking to foster an environment of inclusion; and identifying and removing barriers to the participation of lawyers of color, women lawyers, lawyers with disabilities, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) lawyers.

The Jeanne P. Gray Diversity Scholarship was developed to explore ways for the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility to enhance collaboration with national diverse bar associations. Each year a national diverse bar association is invited to select a recipient to become a member of the Center’s family and to help the ABA explore ways to work more closely together.
