On August 23, 2018, Kan Nawaday was interviewed for a broadcast segment on Bloomberg TV about the impact of granting immunity to Allen Weisselberg, the chief financial officer for the Trump Organization, in the Michael Cohen investigation.
During the segment, Mr. Nawaday outlined the complex prosecutorial process to grant immunity to an individual and the valuable case an individual has to make first to prosecutors to obtain an immunity agreement.
Mr. Nawaday noted, "What's important to remember is any immunity agreement, any immunity order is the gold standard. No prosecutor gives immunity without thinking long and hard about it because of the consequences of giving someone immunity. It actually is a hard process."
