Mr. Kelly combines private practice and Big Four accounting firm experience with federal tax issues affecting multinational organizations
Los Angeles, CA (November 14, 2016) – Venable LLP announced today that Bryan H. Kelly has joined the firm's international tax practice as counsel in its Los Angeles office. Mr. Kelly joins Venable from Ernst & Young, where he worked as a senior manager in the firm’s International Tax Services Group.
Mr. Kelly advises both U.S.-based and non-U.S.-based multinational organizations across a variety of industries on federal income tax considerations with respect to various inbound and outbound transactions. He has experience with inbound investment into the United States, repatriation planning, planning for international expansion, structuring for cross-border film financing and distribution arrangements, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to his tenure at Ernst & Young, Mr. Kelly spent nearly a decade in private practice, most recently as counsel at O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where he advised on federal tax matters relating to a variety of domestic and cross-border transactions, with a focus on the establishment of funds for investment in various asset classes. He began his career at Reed Smith LLP, focusing on the federal, state, and local tax implications of various domestic and cross-border transactions, primarily in the real estate and entertainment industries.

Mr. Kelly received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 2004, his J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law in 2002, and his B.A. from Bucknell University in 1998.
