In a May 18, 2015 article, the Daily Journal interviewed James E. Nelson, Partner-in-Charge of Venable's San Francisco office, on the firm's recent growth in the Bay Area. Since opening in October 2013, the number of attorneys in Venable's San Francisco office has nearly doubled and the office has moved to a larger space at 505 Montgomery Street. Nelson said the new location will "help the firm continue growing its roster of local attorneys."
Nelson added that the long-term goal is to grow into a full-fledged office. "It's the same road map we followed in Los Angeles and New York, which are both up to 70 attorneys at this point." He said the key practice areas targeted for growth are "real estate, tax and wealth planning and regulatory, including Federal Trade Commission, privacy and intellectual property."
