Edward Loya Receives Hispanic National Bar Association’s “Top Lawyers Under 40” Award

Los Angeles, CA (February 16, 2017) – Venable LLP, an American Lawyer Global 100 law firm, announced today that counsel Edward J. Loya, Jr. has received the Hispanic National Bar Association's (HNBA) award for "Top Lawyers Under 40." The award honors attorneys who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community, and dedication to improving the legal profession.

The HNBA Awards Committee selected Mr. Loya as a recipient from a pool of candidates nominated from across the country following a rigorous review process. He will receive his award at the annual HNBA Corporate Counsel Conference held in Miami, FL on March 31, 2017.

A member of Venable's West Coast Commercial Litigation and Investigations and White Collar Defense Practice Groups, Mr. Loya represents companies and individuals in internal investigations, white-collar enforcement and regulatory matters, and general civil litigation. As part of his community involvement, he serves as outside counsel to the Mexican American Bar Association of Los Angeles County, California, and oversees Venable's participation in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity 1L Fellows Program. Prior to joining Venable, he served with distinction as a federal prosecutor in the Public Integrity Section of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC, where he successfully handled investigations and prosecutions of elected, appointed, and career officials at all levels of government. Mr. Loya served as a law clerk to the Honorable Harris Hartz of the Tenth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and to the Honorable S. James Otero of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2005 and his B.A. from the University of California at San Diego in 2002.
