Jeremy Grant, Venable's Managing Director of Technology Business Strategy, was quoted in a June 20, 2017, FCW article on the use of blockchain technology. Best known as the code behind the virtual currency bitcoin, blockchain has recently gained attention as a way for government and large institutions to manage and verify data.
"For any blockchain identity application, how will access to personal information be governed -- will access be available to anybody, or it will be restricted?" asked Grant. "And if it is restricted, how do you ensure that the access system can't be breached -- allowing the data to fall into the wrong hands?"
