Mayor Bill de Blasio’s election has brought new requirements for many employers in New York City. During this breakfast briefing, Venable LLP’s labor and employment attorneys will discuss employers’ requirements under several new or recently amended city employment laws and how employers can avoid costly penalties for violations. Covered subjects will include:

  • Mandatory paid sick time for eligible employees pursuant to the New York City Earned Sick Time Act;
  • New accommodations required for pregnant employees under the recent amendments to the New York City Human Rights Law; and
  • New proposed anti-discrimination laws for unpaid interns.
