Legal Quick Hit: The Attorney-Client Privilege and In-House Counsel

This event has already occurred.

Audioconference, 3:00 - 3:30 pm ET
Association of Corporate Counsel Nonprofit Organizations Committee

It is imperative that in-house counsel and their nonprofit clients be able to identify, maintain and protect privileged information. Whether it is in the course of a government investigation and litigation, membership or employee dispute, or some other conflict, questions about the scope and applicability of the attorney-client privilege arise frequently in the context of in-house counsel. This Quick Hit will dispel common myths and misconceptions about the privilege and provide examples and best practices relevant to nonprofit organizations that can help in-house counsel better protect their clients. This session will be presented by Jonathan Pompan of Venable's nonprofit practice, a former in-house legal counsel at a large industry trade association.
