BALTIMORE, MD (07/21/03) – Venable LLP is pleased to announce that associate Vasilios Peros recently was inducted into the fifth class of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Leadership Academy Fellows. Mr. Peros is one of only 15 attorneys in Maryland invited to participate in the MSBA’s Fellows 2004 Program.

The MSBA’s Leadership Academy of Fellows is a prestigious, 12-month venture that focuses on developing leadership enhancing experiences and discovering the internal workings of the MSBA. The Leadership Academy was established in order to develop new leaders for the Bar, while including all segments of the legal community.

Mr. Peros brings broad experience and understanding to his clients. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Peros was an engineer and a manager at a Fortune 100corporation for more than 15 years. As an engineer, he focused on design, development and manufacturing ofhigh-techproducts, as well as product commercializationand coordination with regulatory agencies.That background, coupled with his previous management experience enables Mr. Peros to offer well- rounded legal advice that reflects his insight in understanding his clients’ work with new and developing technologies and issues surrounding the creation of product teams, marketing and new business development.

Mr. Peros co-chairs the Technology Committee for the Bar Association of Baltimore City and is a senior member of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In addition, he is a member of the American Bar Association and Maryland State Bar Association. A member of the firm's pro bono committee, his pro bono activities include participation in tax matters through the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service, and volunteering in various community service efforts.

He earned his B.S. in engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, his M.S. in engineering from the University of Delaware, his M.B.A. from the University of Baltimore and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2001 where he graduated magna cum laude.
