Baltimore, MD (April 19, 2013) – Venable LLP is pleased to announce that partner Ralph S. Tyler is the 2013 recipient of the J. Joseph Curran Public Service Award for Distinguished Government/Public Interest Lawyers. Named after the longest serving elected Attorney General in Maryland’s history and presented by the Maryland Bar Foundation, the Curran Award recognizes either a government or public interest lawyer who selflessly serves the public good and furthers the goals of better government and societal standards.

In a statement on its website announcing Mr. Tyler as the 2013 Curran Award recipient, the Maryland Bar Foundation said he “has had a distinguished career in public service at the local, state and national levels,” Mr. Tyler was also praised for demonstrating “a strong and lasting commitment to pro bono legal services and similar activities.”
