Todd Harrison and Michael Blume were featured in Natural Products Insider's video podcast during SupplySide West in Las Vegas on October 30, 2017, in which they discussed how the FDA considers DMAA to be an illegal ingredient in dietary supplements.
According to an FDA warning letter in 2013, DMAA, especially in combination with other ingredients such as caffeine, can be a health risk to consumers. Dietary supplements containing DMAA are illegal, and the FDA is doing everything within its authority to remove these products from the market.
