Baltimore, MD (August 9, 2011) – The Daily Record has chosen two Venable attorneys for inclusion on its annual VIP list of "very important professionals" who are successful by 40. Jason C. Rose of the firm's Commercial Litigation practice and Michael D. Schiffer of the firm's Corporate Group, both from Venable's Baltimore office, have been chosen for this honor.
Winners were selected on the basis of professional accomplishment, civic involvement and having significant achievements by the age of 40.
Mike represents publicly and privately held REITs and other corporations in connection with major transactions, corporate governance issues, securities transactions and other financings. He also represents several private companies in M&A transactions and lenders and borrowers in subordinated loan transactions, second lien loans and related equity investments. Mike co-chairs Venable's Junior Capital / Mezzanine Finance Practice Group.
Jason maintains a diverse litigation practice as part of the firm's Commercial Litigation Group. His practice includes the representation of a wide variety of local, national and international clients in commercial matters ranging from contract disputes and business torts to securities litigation to pharmaceutical litigation. He also offers his clients a global perspective on their matters, having spent time working in the international legal group of a leading global heavy machinery manufacturer while living in Tokyo, Japan.
The winners will be honored on Monday, September 26, at a cocktail reception held at the Tremont Grand in Baltimore, MD. Winners will also be profiled in a special magazine that will be included in the September 30 issue of The Daily Record.
