USA Today quotes Larry Norton on uptick in DOJ political corruption cases

Venable partner Larry Norton was quoted in a March 10, 2015 USA Today article on an uptick in Justice Department political corruption cases. Over the past several years, federal prosecutors have aggressively pursued cases against both federal and state officials including former Senators Ted Stevens and John Edwards, former New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell.

"The department stumbled, certainly, with the Edwards and Stevens cases," said Norton commenting on two high-profile prosecutions that were thrown out and resulted in an acquittal. "They are likely outliers. What we are seeing here is a return to the norm."
