Recognized in Prosecution and Strategy and Enforcement and Litigation categories, five attorneys singled out
Washington, DC – January 26, 2015 – Venable LLP announced today that its Trademark Practice Group was recognized in the fifth edition of World Trademark Review 1000 – The World's Leading Trademark Professionals. Additionally, five of the group's attorneys – partners Mark B. Harrison, Justin E. Pierce, Andrew D. Price, and Janet F. Satterthwaite and associate Rebecca Liebowitz – were singled out for recognition in the latest edition.
The group was ranked in the Silver Tier for Prosecution and Strategy and in the Bronze Tier for Enforcement and Litigation in the Washington, DC Metro Area. Individually, Mr. Harrison, ranked in the Silver Tier for Prosecution and Strategy, was described as one of the "top trademark lawyers in the city." Ranked in the Silver Tier for Prosecution and Strategy and the Bronze Tier for Enforcement and Litigation, Mr. Pierce is praised for his in-house experience with one source saying there is "no one that is as well connected as he is," and another saying he "is just a fabulous big-picture guy." WTR described Mr. Price, also in the Silver Tier for Prosecution and Strategy, as an "arch-strategist" who one commentator said is a "fantastic tactician, he has a superb understanding of clients and their needs. In the Prosecution and Strategy Bronze Tier is Ms. Satterthwaite who WTR praised for her work in "domain name recovery, brand building and pre-emptive strikes against bad actors." WTR also described her as a "go-to reference for many clients." Rounding out the group in the Bronze Tier of the Prosecution and Strategy category is Ms. Liebowitz whose "wide range of industry contacts" makes her "one to watch," according to WTR. One commentator described her as, "Fabulously personable and extremely well organized."
This is the fourth consecutive year Venable's Trademark Group and Mr. Harrison and Mr. Price have been recognized by WTR, the third consecutive year for Mr. Pierce and Ms. Satterthwaite, and the debut year for Ms. Liebowitz.
