In a February 13, 2014 article, ABC 4 Utah quoted Venable partner and retired Navy Rear Admiral Jamie Barnett on the problem 911 dispatchers face in locating 911 calls made from cellphones indoors.

Admiral Barnett directs the Find Me 911 Coalition, a group representing emergency responders and 911 dispatchers which is urging the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to require wireless carriers to use new technology that can accurately track indoor calls. Admiral Barnett said “The FCC has for some time required that wireless phone carriers provide a location when you call 911, that requirement has never been if you call from indoors.”
