Seth Rosenthal, a partner in the firm's Litigation Division, will serve as the new Pro Bono Coordinator and Chair of Venable's Pro Bono Committee. Seth takes over the role previously held by Gerry Treanor, who retired at the end of December.
Seth has an active pro bono practice. Among other matters, he led a successful effort to secure the recent release of a D.C. man wrongly imprisoned for 19 years for a murder he did not commit.
Seth is the recipient of numerous commendations and special achievement awards from the Department of Justice, and was named one of Washingtonian magazine's "Top 40 under 40 lawyers." In 2009, Seth was awarded the Benjamin R. Civiletti Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year and Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project Defender of Innocence Awards.
