1 min

Last week, Venable announced that Bobby Turnage, former senior vice president and general counsel of online services provider Network Solutions LLC, had joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, DC and Tysons Corner, VA offices. Turnage will advise companies doing business on the web who deal daily with critical e-commerce issues such as third-party content liability, protection of intellectual property, online advertising activities, domain name disputes, and data security and privacy.

News of Turnage’s move to Venable was featured by Law360 and The Blog of Legal Times on April 2, 2012 and Thomson Reuters News & Insight on April 3, 2012. Noting that he is looking forward to working with multiple companies and helping them identify legal issues, Turnage told Law360, “It's a chance to do all the same things I was doing for Network Solutions, but with many different companies and clients…That's just a very exciting prospect.” In an interview with The Blog of Legal Times, Turnage said he wants to use his experience as a problem solver to provide his clients with “practical and business-focused legal advice.” Added Turnage, “What I intend to do is take the legal principle and apply it to the business setting.”
