The Detroit News quoted Venable partner David Strickland in a March 31, 2014 article on the new rule recently finalized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) requiring automakers to install back-up cameras in all vehicles by May 2018. The rule aims to reduce backover deaths.

Strickland, former NHTSA Administrator who also helped write the legislation mandating the rule, said the rule’s implementation is “a great day for auto safety, and for children. It was a privilege to have worked on this issue at its legislative inception almost 10 years ago, and to have been a part of a great team in getting this rule issued.”
