Washington Post quotes Seth Rosenthal in murder case dismissal

Venable partner Seth Rosenthal was quoted in an April 20, 2015 Washington Post article on a decision by federal prosecutors to dismiss murder charges against Gary Gathers and Keith Mitchell. The two men were convicted of first-degree murder in 1993 and sentenced to 35 years to life in prison. Last October, the D.C. Court of Appeals reversed their convictions finding that the government violated the Constitution by introducing and exploiting false testimony from a Metropolitan Police Department detective.

"The next step is for these guys to move on with their lives and put the past behind them, work to make money and to have families and to live sort of normal lives like everyone else," said Rosenthal, who represents Gathers and argued the appeal on behalf of both men. "That is really the next step."
