On May 13, 2015, the Daily Journal recognized Venable partner Michele M. Mulrooney as one of California's leading women attorneys with a brief profile of her practice.

"The reason I have so many clients is because no one knows who I represent or what they're doing. Confidentiality, I think, is the hallmark of my success. It is well known that I represent a lot of entertainers in their personal affairs. It is just not known exactly who I represent," said Mulrooney. "A lot of talent can be a citizen of a foreign nation but working in the U.S. There are a lot of people who move around a lot. They need a lot of tax advice. I'm the quarterback for that kind of planning."

The Daily Journal profile noted that Mulrooney's practice focuses on estate and gift planning advice and pre-immigration counsel. "I represent a lot of clients that may be moving here from a foreign country into the U.S.A. There is planning to be done with [respect to] their wealth and opportunities," she said. Another aspect of Mulrooney's practice includes setting up charitable foundations. "One of the most rewarding things I'll do is help a family to establish a family foundation. I then have meetings with the family, and we teach the kids about philanthropy. I've seen the kids just take off with it."
