Venable partner Ed Wilson was quoted in a May 16, 2016 Politico article on the recent hacking of the Bangladesh Bank. The hack, which resulted in an $81 million heist, targeted the bank’s messaging system that is used to transfer money around the world.
"I thought, another bank doesn’t have good enough security," said Wilson. "I think it depends on the bank. If you look at what the Bangladesh Bank was using for its security, you had to wince." Commenting on possible solutions, Wilson added, "On the one hand, banks can share information better about what’s happening concerning the attacks, not necessarily the breaches but the attacks."
