Venable partner Jamie Barnett was quoted in a May 14, 2017, Washington Post article on last week's worldwide ransomware attack. The worldwide attack, which began with Britain's National Health Service and spread to nearly 150 countries, threatened to delete users' computer files unless they paid $300 in bitcoins. A second wave of the attack could hit this week as millions of people return to work and discover if their systems have been infected.
"They're going to turn on their computers in the morning and find out if they were protected or not," said Barnett.
