Jamie Barnett was quoted by Politico on August 31, 2017, in an article discussing DOJ’s stance on technology that would allow cell phone jamming devices in prison. According to Assistant Attorney General Beth Williams, the DOJ "encourages any effort to improve market competition to make technology more affordable."
DOJ is off the mark "both technologically and legally," said Barnett, calling legalizing jamming a "bad idea" that can cause the technology to proliferate for bad uses.
