On behalf of Brooke Shields, Alex Weingarten filed a right-to-publicity lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Inc. and major retailers over "Brooke S" eyebrow pencil.
Brooke Shields' decades-long career as a model, actress, author, and entrepreneur has made Brooke (and her eyebrows) a household name. In fact, Brooke's eyebrows have been her trademark since Time magazine declared her "the '80s look" in 1981. Charlotte Tilbury and its related retailers have attempted to profit from Brooke's signature look by stamping Brooke's name on an eyebrow pencil without her consent.
"This is an egregious violation of Brooke's rights, which we will litigate vigorously to vindicate," said Weingarten.
News of the filing received significant coverage from Bloomberg Law, The Hollywood Reporter, Yahoo Finance, TMZ, Page Six, MSN, Daily Mail, People, AmLaw Litigation Daily, and The Blast, among other publications.
