Jessica Grant was recognized by The Recorder as one of its "California Trailblazers" for 2019. This list spotlights innovators and thought leaders who have had a significant impact on the advancement of their practice. The following is an excerpt from the publication:
After several years of defense work in product liability cases, Grant had the chance to switch sides and represent a 116,000-person class suing one of the world's largest corporations over employment discrimination. The case took five years to get to trial—and four months to try it. In the end, the jury awarded Grant's clients $172 million, including $112 million in punitive damages. Her next trial brought an even larger award. Representing the state of New Hampshire in a groundwater contamination case against 13 oil companies, Grant won a verdict of $816 million in 2013. Only three larger awards were recorded in the United States that year.
