Venable partner Alex Weingarten was quoted in a June 7, 2016 Daily Journal article on a lawsuit against rapper Wiz Khalifa's former manager seeking an end to a so-called 360 deal. According to the complaint, filed by Weingarten, Khalifa's former manager failed to "render full disclosure to plaintiff of all material information relating to his professional career." This included what Khalifa's former manager earned through the 360 deal and other benefits from exploiting Khalifa's publicity rights.

"An artist's most trusted advisor is his or her personal manager. Generally, nothing good comes out when the manager decides to go into business against his artist. Unfortunately, that is the case here," said Weingarten.
