Amy Stern Werner


Amy Stern Werner is an associate in Venable's Commercial Litigation Practice Group in the Los Angeles office. Amy has experience in a wide range of matters including intellectual property, real estate, commercial disputes, and white collar and securities litigation. Her experience includes aspects of litigation in state and federal court for individuals and national companies, including pre-trial and motion practice, fact and expert discovery, and witness preparation.

Amy also has extensive experience representing pro bono clients in Immigration Court. During law school, Amy served as a student supervisor for the USC Immigration Clinic, where she drafted applications and advocated in Immigration Court for individuals seeking asylum and other forms of humanitarian protection.

Representative Matters

  • Represents trustee of multimillion dollar real estate trust to protect, preserve, and recover assets for numerous interrelated trusts.
  • Preserved favorable ruling in dispute relating to interpretation of an insurance trust.
  • Successfully limited and quashed third-party subpoenas in civil and criminal court proceedings relating to high profile celebrity.
  • Defended individual and affiliated entities in copyright dispute related to music licensing rights and royalty payments.
  • Defended filmmaker and production company in copyright dispute against film and television studios.
