Beth Caseman

Beth Caseman, a member of Venable's Nonprofit Organizations Practice, has more than 15 years of experience representing nonprofit organizations, both in-house and in private practice. She has significant experience in the establishment and operation of tax-exempt organizations, corporate governance, contracts, fundraising, employment, copyrights and trademarks, affiliates and subsidiaries, and many other nonprofit legal issues.

Prior to joining Venable, Beth worked two stints with Volunteers of America, Inc., one of the country’s largest charities. Beginning her career there as legal counsel, she was most recently the charity’s senior vice president and acting general counsel. In this role, she advised the board of directors, officers, and senior management on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate governance, federal tax exemption, regulatory compliance, fundraising, affiliate relations, and affordable housing law, among others. She also was responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal and reputational risk for the organization.
