Chaim Gordon is an associate in Venable's Tax and Wealth Planning Group. His practice focuses on advising corporate and individual clients on federal income tax matters, but he also has experience advising clients on employee benefits and excise tax matters. His income tax practice includes controversy, transactional, and policy matters.
Mr. Gordon has experience drafting and preparing a variety of documents, including LLC agreements and other corporate documents, private letter ruling requests, technical advice requests, Appeals protests, U.S. Tax Court submissions, comments on proposed Treasury regulations, and tax-exempt recognition applications.
Before joining Venable, Mr. Gordon clerked for the Honorable L. Paige Marvel, U.S. Tax Court. Mr. Gordon received his LL.M. in Taxation, with distinction, and his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where he received the Nelson T. Hartson Memorial Award and was a Final Editor for The Tax Lawyer.
